Need for Improved Health Services in Our North
Access to proper health services continues to be an issue in Northern and remote communities. Issues relating to adequate health infrastructure and inability to access trained health practitioners continues to impact the health of citizens in MKO Nations. In spite of these obstacles, MKO staff continue to work diligently towards improving health services in our North.
How We Help

Governance
MKO seeks to gain control over the health services in our Northern communities as support through MKO resolutions.

Navigators
Our Non-Insured Health Benefits Navigators are available to assist patients with navigating the medical system when on medical travel.

Women
MKO Health can assist in preparing strategies and attending meetings relative to women’s health and women’s issues.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide compassionate, culturally rooted mental health services to northern First Nations in Manitoba.
By embracing traditional knowledge and modern approaches, we strive to create accessible, safe, and supportive environments that
empower individuals, families, and communities to thrive mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Our commitment is to walk alongside
the people we serve, promoting healing, resilience, and holistic well-being for today and future generations.
